Booking & Confirmation
A booking is confirmed once Java Mountain Guide has received your booking request (via WhatsApp, email, or contact form) and you have received a written confirmation from us. Verbal confirmations are not binding.
To secure your booking, a deposit payment is required. The deposit amount will be communicated at the time of confirmation and varies by tour length and group size.
โ Tip: We recommend booking at least 3โ7 days in advance for day trips, and 2โ4 weeks for multi-day or expedition tours.
Payments
We accept payment by bank transfer (BCA/Mandiri), PayPal, Wise, or cash (Indonesian Rupiah or USD) upon arrival. All prices listed on our website are in IDR per person and are subject to change without notice for future bookings.
The remaining balance after your deposit is due on the first day of your tour, before departure. All prices are inclusive of applicable taxes unless otherwise stated.
Cancellation Policy
We understand plans change. Our cancellation policy is designed to be as fair as possible to both parties:

Cancellations must be made in writing via WhatsApp or email. The date of cancellation is the date we receive your written notice.
โ ๏ธ Note: We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance that covers trip cancellation before booking.
Changes to Itinerary
Java Mountain Guide reserves the right to alter itineraries, routes, activities, or accommodations when circumstances beyond our control require it (weather, volcanic activity, road closures, government restrictions, etc.).
If changes are made by us for reasons within our control, we will offer an equivalent alternative or a partial refund. We will always communicate changes as early as possible.
What's Included & Excluded
Each tour listing clearly states what is and is not included. As a general rule across most packages:
- Included: Private transport, entrance fees, guide services, water, and items explicitly listed per package
- Not included: International flights, travel insurance, personal meals (unless stated), gratuities, horse rental, and personal expenses
- Not included: Any activity or service not explicitly listed in the tour description
Prices listed are per person, based on the minimum group size stated. Solo traveler rates differ from group rates โ please confirm your group size when booking.
Health & Physical Fitness
Participants are responsible for ensuring they are in adequate physical condition for their chosen tour. Tour difficulty levels (Easy, Moderate, Hard, Very Hard) are stated on each tour page.
You must inform us of any medical conditions, physical limitations, dietary requirements, or allergies at the time of booking. We reserve the right to refuse participation if we reasonably believe your safety or the safety of others would be compromised.
โ ๏ธ Expedition tours (Mt Raung, Arjuno Welirang, Rinjani) require prior trekking experience and good physical fitness. Please consult a doctor before booking these tours.
Safety & Liability
The safety of our guests is our highest priority. All guides are certified and trained in first aid and emergency procedures. However, adventure tourism inherently carries risks that cannot be fully eliminated.
By booking with Java Mountain Guide, you acknowledge that you participate voluntarily and accept the inherent risks associated with outdoor and adventure activities including hiking, trekking, and volcanic terrain exploration.
Java Mountain Guide accepts no liability for personal injury, illness, loss, damage, accident, or any other claim arising from participation in our tours, except where directly caused by our proven negligence.
Weather & Natural Conditions
East Java's volcanic and mountain landscapes are subject to rapid weather changes, volcanic activity (especially at Bromo and Ijen), and seasonal conditions. Java Mountain Guide cannot be held responsible for poor visibility, cloud cover at sunrise, or cancelled activities due to weather or natural events.
In the event of dangerous conditions, our guides have the authority to modify or terminate activities for safety reasons without refund obligation. Your guide's safety decision is final.
Personal Belongings
Java Mountain Guide accepts no responsibility for loss, theft, or damage to personal belongings during any tour. We recommend leaving valuables at your hotel and using a travel insurance policy that covers personal property.
Code of Conduct
We ask all guests to respect local customs, cultural sites, and the natural environment. The following are not permitted on any Java Mountain Guide tour:
- Littering or leaving waste in any nature reserve or national park
- Removing rocks, plants, or natural objects from protected areas
- Disrespectful behavior toward local communities or cultural/religious sites
- Use of illegal substances
- Ignoring guide safety instructions
Java Mountain Guide reserves the right to terminate a tour without refund if a guest's conduct endangers themselves, others, or causes significant disruption.
Photography & Marketing
Our guides may take photographs and videos of guests during tours for use on our website, social media, and marketing materials. If you do not wish to be photographed, please inform your guide at the start of the tour.
Guests grant Java Mountain Guide a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use photos and videos they share with us (via WhatsApp, email, or social media tagging) for promotional purposes.
Contact & Disputes
These terms are governed by Indonesian law. Any disputes shall first be addressed through direct communication with Java Mountain Guide. We are committed to resolving all issues fairly and promptly.
