The blue fire requires clear conditions and visibility of the vents. Our guides check conditions before departure. On rare occasions (heavy rain or unsafe fume levels) we reschedule for safety.

How hard is the Ijen trek?+

The 3km uphill hike takes 1.5–2 hours at moderate pace. The crater descent adds 20–30 min on loose rock. Fit adults find it very manageable.

You return to your Banyuwangi hotel around 09:00–10:00 AM.

Can we see sunrise from Ijen?+
